Contracts of Employment

Employees are entitled to a written statement of their main terms and conditions of employment within two months of commencing employment with you. The Contract of Employment will set out an employee’s employment rights, responsibilities and duties. An employment tribunal may award an employee compensation of up to 4 weeks' pay if this is not provided.

Policies and procedures should cover all possibilities, from your employee unexpectedly falling ill to not being able to attend work due to adverse weather conditions.

It is important to get it right, so Morgan Risk Management Ltd will work with you to ensure that the contracts of employment produced are in line with existing legislation and are deemed ‘reasonable’ from an employment law perspective. Any subsequent advice you may then require will be based on the policies and procedures set out in such documentation, to ensure that you are consistent in the treatment of your employees and that no employees are treated less favourably than others.
